Summary
The Supreme Audit Institution of the Federation (ASF), as a specialized technical body of the Chamber of Deputies and responsible for overseeing federal public spending in the three branches of government in Mexico, required a robust operational infrastructure to support its transparency and accountability mission.
This initiative demanded a system that ensures the highest standards of security and efficiency.
To strengthen institutional security, approximately 1,000 cameras were integrated across its five buildings in Mexico City, consolidating monitoring into a unified control center. This equipment, equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced video analytics capabilities, enables facial recognition and license plate recognition.
The implementation of this technological ecosystem not only guarantees comprehensive surveillance but also enhances response capabilities through advanced search tools and real-time data analytics.
The Challenge
ASF faced a scenario characterized by the following challenges:
- Technological obsolescence in its physical security infrastructure
- The existing video surveillance system lacked active technical support and manufacturer warranties, compromising operational continuity.
- Management was fragmented across five administrative complexes operating in isolation, each with approximately 1,000 cameras, lacking a centralized monitoring and management platform.
- Limited system scalability and restricted integration with advanced technologies such as facial recognition and automatic license plate recognition (LPR), reducing response capabilities and hindering modernization efforts.
Bolide Solution
Constrasys, as the system integrator, assumed responsibility for the design, development, and execution of the comprehensive project, which included the following technological solutions from Bolide:
- Varifocal lens cameras and facial recognition: Deployment of high-resolution cameras equipped with edge AI, designed for real-time identification and access control-
- License Plate Recognition System (LPR): Installation of cameras configured for automatic vehicle license plate detection and registration, optimizing vehicle access control-
- Panoramic technology (Fisheye & 180°): Deployment of 360° and 180° vision cameras to ensure exhaustive coverage and eliminate blind spots across operational and office areas-
- Thermal cameras: Designed for early fire detection—critical in areas such as building location in forest-adjacent zones with wildfire risk-
- Unified Command and Monitoring Center: Implementation of the Bolide VMS platform, enabling centralized management and intelligent search capabilities. The solution was complemented with specialized peripherals (joysticks) for dynamic video wall control using LED technology.
The Bolide system architecture provides the Supreme Audit Institution of the Federation with a scalable and modular infrastructure. This versatility enables the future integration of additional devices and advanced functional modules, ensuring that the system evolves in line with the organization’s tactical and operational needs.
