GEODIS: Enhancing Distribution Center Security and Operational Efficiency with BOLIDE Edge AI Technology
  • Client: GEODIS
  • Sector: Logistics / Distribution Centers
  • Location: State of Mexico, Mexico

Summary

GEODIS, one of the world's leading logistics and distribution providers for international brands, strengthened the security of its distribution centers by implementing an integrated BOLIDE electronic security solution powered by iPAC cameras with Edge Artificial Intelligence. The project involves the phased modernization of seven distribution centers across Mexico, replacing approximately 450 existing cameras with BOLIDE technology. To date, more than 100 devices are already operational, enhancing both perimeter and internal security, improving centralized monitoring capabilities, and increasing overall operational efficiency.

The Challenge

As GEODIS continued expanding its operations, evolving security requirements highlighted the need for a more intelligent and scalable surveillance infrastructure. The existing system lacked advanced analytical capabilities and centralized management tools necessary to support the company's operational demands.

The main challenges included:

Limited surveillance intelligence: Existing cameras lacked advanced AI capabilities, restricting proactive event detection, behavior monitoring, and automated alert generation required to strengthen perimeter and internal security.

Inefficient video management and evidence retrieval: The previous solution presented limitations in recording administration and video search processes, making timely access to critical footage more difficult and reducing operational responsiveness across multiple sites.

Limited scalability and user administration: The existing platform offered restricted access management and centralized administration capabilities, creating challenges for scaling operations across the seven distribution centers and supporting the future migration of approximately 450 cameras to a more robust and flexible architecture.

Bolide Solution

To address these challenges, Bolide Technology Group designed and deployed a scalable, Edge AI-powered security ecosystem capable of enhancing asset protection while supporting GEODIS' operational growth.

The implementation included:

The solution incorporated advanced IP cameras equipped with onboard intelligence for real-time video analytics, including:

• BN8109HA/NDAA
• BN8036AI/NDAA
• BN1908FE/NDAA
• BN9109-PN-DUAL
• BN1009PTZ4K/NDAA

Embedded Artificial Intelligence Analytics

The deployed solution integrates advanced edge-based analytics capable of processing events directly within the devices, including:

• Facial Recognition
• Line Crossing Detection
• Intelligent Event Alerts
• Real-Time Behavioral Analysis

Centralized Management Platform

GEODIS implemented the BOLIDE VMS, operating through both local and centralized architectures, enabling unified management of multiple facilities from a single platform.

Added Value

The solution also delivers several strategic advantages:

• Edge analytics without dependency on external servers.
• Highly scalable architecture designed for future expansion.
• License-free operation, reducing total cost of ownership and facilitating system growth.
• Simplified administration through an intuitive management platform.
